I wrote HE’S THE SAME TODAY several years ago when I was going through a period in my life where it seemed that everyone including myself had begun to believe that miracles were a thing of the past. It was a very dry time in my life and it seemed the same for everyone else I knew. We had been through a time when we prayed for people and saw absolutely no results. I know that sometimes God has to bring people through the desert before they can go to the mountain and that’s what was happening to us. We saw no healing, no conversions, no change to anyone's life that we could put our finger on. I just want to say that even though at times we do not see any outward appearance of anything happening it doesn’t mean that there is not a miracle going on underneath. I quickly came to the realization that God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. All we have to do is have faith and believe, He will not disappoint.
At the wedding feast in Cana, He turned the water into wine He gave hearing to the deaf, He gave sight to the blind The woman who touched His garment, by faith was healed that day Why should we expect any less of Him today?
He’s the same today as He was long ago A faithful, loving God who wants us all to know If we believe in the miracles that He did yesterday Why should we expect any less of Him today?
He blessed five loaves and two fish and five thousand men were fed By laying on His hands, He healed the sick: He raised the dead He spoke and calmed the waters, as the winds and waves obeyed Why should we expect any less of Him today?
He’s the same today as He was long ago A faithful, loving God who wants us all to know If we believe in the miracles that He did yesterday Why should we expect any less of Him today?
With compassion He cleansed the leper; told the lame to rise and walk He cast out an evil spirit and the mute began to talk He was victorious in the wilderness when He drove Satan away Why should we expect any less of Him today?
He’s the same today as He was long ago A faithful, loving God who wants us all to know If we believe in the miracles that He did yesterday Why should we expect any less of Him today?
He's the same God of miracles still today.
